Granite

Q: Why are granites different prices?
A: Price depends primarily on the rarity and availability of the stone and also the degree of difficulty in quarrying. For example, Blue Pearl is one of the more expensive types of granite as it is considered to be very exotic
and rare and only about 20% of the quarried material is suitable for domestic use.

A: Granite is a product of nature and has a beauty not seen in man made products. It is a solid surface which requires little maintenance. Matching granite backsplashes provide a stunning appearance. Granite maximizes the
impact a kitchen has in a home and increase the value of the property substantially.

A: A chamois or general granite cleaner can be used daily to keep the granite sparkling; we also provide a number of polishers and sealers that can be applied preferably twice a year but once will also suffice.

Q: Do I need to select my slabs or are the samples accurate enough?
A: Since granite is a product of nature, differences in color and grain do occur. Our experience has shown that since materials vary from batch to batch and slab to slab it is best to select your slab. We are one of few companies that have the slabs on display in our yard and you can sign each slab you want cut for your countertops.

Q: Will the granite stain?
A: Although all products that come out of the shop are sealed with impregnator, we do not recommend you leave red wine or oil spills, hot greasy pots on counter tops for an extended period of time. That's why we recommend sealing the granite few time a year with sealers and impregnators that can be be purchased.

Q: Will the granite chip?
A: With normal use no it is the most scratch resistance natural stone. But it is possible to scratch any countertop surface with harder material than usual utensils and pots and pans.
